![]() ![]() How can I save the results of a FrontPage form to a file on my web area ? |
For security reasons, we do not allow FrontPage forms to save results to a file on the server. This would require visitors to your web site to have write access on your web space. Allowing this would make it easy for someone with basic system skills to change files on your area without your permissione. In an extreme case, they could even change your home page or fill your web area (25 MB). We suggest that you consider sending the results of FrontPage forms to an email address or a CGI script. This is supported and has less security risks. A way to saving the results of a form to a file without compromising the security of your site is to use a CGI script to write to a database. That requires some basic skills in CGI programming and databases. | |
